Every company already knows why it is important to communicate outside the company, why it matters what the economic players think about the company and its activities, be they consumers, competitors or the authorities. But what about internal communication? Schedule an in-house team building is it one of the definite tools?

If we look at the changes in the labor market over the past decade, we can observe that the late Generation Y and the following Generation Z have very different conditions for employment than the Generation X and early Generation Y of the Kádár era. Yes, it is not an exaggeration to say that it is largely the supply side, made up of the new entrants to the labor market from 2015 onwards, that shapes demand, in contrast to the reverse of previous decades.

The key to the success of your business is in the paragraph above. In the first place, those owners and managers who recognise and accept the tendency that in the majority of cases it is no longer the company that chooses the employee, but the employee who chooses the most convincing company, can give their company a competitive edge over the competition in the labor market.

On the other hand, if the company adapts to the jobseeker, if it takes into account the optimal working methods for them, they will be more successful in integrating them into the company and will be able to increase their sales at a higher rate thanks to a loyal, motivated and high-quality workforce.

At the same time, companies that are unable or unwilling to adapt, by not being able to reach out to young people starting their careers, will be left behind in the competition, which will affect their profits in the long run.

But what are Generation Y and Generation Z job seekers like in general? They are less disciplined, blame-shifting, sensitive and difficult to criticize, they go to the end of the world with a phone in their hand, and what’s not on the Internet doesn’t exist, they are impatient and want everything immediately. But they are in no way worse than previous generations. They are just different and you have to speak to them in a different language. In their language; and you have to learn it. 

Why is it important that you, as a manager, adapt to them? Because they’re less loyal, they won’t be inclined to adapt to others. One of the most important tools to support their integration is to organize a company team-building event for them.

The importance of team-building events in the workplace has increased significantly in recent years and this trend is likely to continue in the coming years. The most successful companies will be those that invest as much of their internal resources as possible in understanding, motivating, team-building and training their employees.

Do you want your company and you as its leader to be recognised? Then recognise the people who make it possible for you. How you communicate within the company, how often you communicate, and what methods you use to motivate are more important than anything else. No advertising is cheaper or better than that generated by the employees you treat well.
