Instead of a family day out, have a summer party or festival!

For most companies, summer is a quiet time of the year. You’re past the spring rush, but the main autumn season is still to come. The months of July and August are mainly about employee holidays. With conscious planning and careful communication, you can organize an attractive event with excellent results during this period of the year, and on much better terms than in the event-filled spring or autumn peak seasons, when the best services and the best event equipment are already booked anyways.

The summer months are less crowded on the events market, so you have more options to choose from. The quality and quantity of venues, activities, performers and equipment is clearly better than during peak periods. Also, from an event management perspective, there is a greater focus on you and your event, simply because there are fewer events during this period.

Although the weather is capricious and unpredictable, it is still generally true that the chances of catching a full day of rain in summer are quite low, so you can plan your outdoor activities with confidence.

We recommend that you advertise these summer events not as a family day, but as a summer party or company festival. We are finding that company employees now prefer to attend events that are not called family days. The reason for this is simple: as the 20s and 30s are starting families later and later, younger people feel young for much longer, this makes it much harder to attract them with a family day event.

On the other hand, the term ‘festival’ or ‘summer party’ implies more contemporary, trendy programmes for them.

You now know what name to use to make your summer staff event attractive. But what do your employees need at an event like this?

Entertainment, and shared, informal relaxation. Where they can try out lots of colorful, cool activities and don’t have the feeling of being forced to spend the whole day following the script the management has in mind. Give them a broader framework and let them decide when and what to eat, and who and what to spend their time with.

In what way will this be good for you as a corporate leader? Your goals will be fully met despite the more relaxed event, with a well-designed motivational system and structure as the backbone of the event. This requires you to know your colleagues, their motivations and dare to let go of the usual events, frameworks and boring programmes. Yes, we know that foosball and ping pong have been a big hit in companies for 30 years, but this offer is extremely inadequate for a successful event.

If you support this type of event with a sufficiently relaxed, yet smooth and eventful scenario, your colleagues will feel that you’ve been thinking with them in mind, that you wanted to create a compelling event for them.

And another reason why your colleagues will be grateful if you organize a cool summer party or company festival:

Attending a one-day festival with friends became a privilege for an individual. The cost of a one-day festival for a group of 4 people or a family, including entrance fees, food, drinks, extra activities, travel and accommodation, can be as much as HUF 220-300 thousand for a trendy festival. That’s a lot of money for a day that many people can’t afford. For a much more affordable price, the company itself shall cover these costs, and if you fill the day with a colorful, rich programme, your employees will feel like they are attending a fancy festival. And because you’re building a social experience and improving employee relations, your employees will be more loyal.

Furthermore, combining delicious food and colorful activities with a cool concert experience, in a trendy venue, at a summer event, is a surefire way to make it a complete success.
